I tried using a silver metallic pen, and found that it wore off in about 36 hours. So, I gave up for a while. I am a touch-typist and it didn't really impede me. My oldest son, who is in high school, manages to use this computer for homework without issue, too, but last night my youngest son, in 7th grade, who is NOT a touch-typist needed to use the computer for a report. About 30 minutes after he started on the assignment, he complained that he couldn't do the report because he couldn't find the letters. So, necessity, being the mother of invention, I wrote the letters on the keys again and then covered them with Scotch tape. Not pretty, but it works. (My hubby just wandered past as I was writing this post, went out to the garage, and brought me a spare keyboard...an even better solution!)
