I'm Not Too Proud

...to use a 40% off coupon on a 35-cent skein of embroidery floss! I ran to Michaels last night because I was out of one of the colors I am using to cross-stitch a replica of the Eagle Scout badge for my son's Court of Honor on Saturday. I remembered I had a coupon in my planner that expired yesterday, so I used it. Got the skein for 23 cents after tax.

Which brings me to the real reason I posted this. A few months ago, I started carrying non-grocery coupons in my planner so I would be sure to use them. You know, for places like JoAnn, Michaels, Hallmark, etc. I bought a special ziploc-type pouch for my Franklin planner. I cut out the JoAnn and Michaels' coupons from the paper every week, whether I think I will go there that week or not. More often than not, I end up there for something (like embroidery floss).

If you don't have a paper-based planner, find a place in your purse to stash them, or get an envelope or a ziploc bag. The ziploc pounch I have in my planner is sturdy enough it could probably float around a purse and hold up pretty well.

Oh, and sad to say, even though I bought the correct floss number, I got home and started using it next to what I had already stitched using my existing floss, and the color is just plain wrong. Must have gotten a bad dye lot or something. Bummer. Gonna have to run to JoAnn or Michaels again this week--this project needs to be done by Saturday! AAAA!
