Hey, It's Free!--AGAIN

I've already posted about my favorite freebie site, Hey, It's Free, but it is time to do it again because they are sponsoring some nifty giveaways for folks who promote their site.

Hey, It’s Free! is one of the leading sites on the internet for freebies. They filter out all the spammy freebie offers and the guy who runs it, Goob, is pretty legendary to boot! He’s even giving away a $50 giftcard to Walmart this week! So check out HIF and start getting some freebies in your mail!

I love HIF! I've gotten some truly great, totally free stuff. I may never have to buy hand lotion again, and the TiVO cookie cutter can't be beat. Just this month I have signed up for free jerky, Crest White Strips, and a coupon for a free 2-liter bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper.

Quaker Oats Sure Knows How to Say Thank-you!

A while back, I wrote a post about writing to product manufacturers to tell them how much and why you like (or dislike) their product, as a method of getting coupons from them. While I did have quite a bit of success doing this, I haven't done it in a while, as you can't write to the same manufacturers too often. So, imagine my surprise when the doorbell rings and I open the door to find UPS has left a box addressed to me from Quaker Oats.

THIS is what was inside:

TWO boxes of granola bars (12 total bars), TWO boxes of cereal (16 total servings), and NINE $1 coupons! Woo-hoo! There was also a flyer that said "we heard you loved our all natural, multigrain product, and we couldn't be more pleased!...As our way of saying THANKS we are giving you several more Simple Harvest products so you can see for yourself how delicious all natural can be...Also take advantage of the valuable coupons enclosed...we hope you continue spreading the good word about our products." (I think I am doing that right now!)
I checked the spreadsheet that I used to keep track of all the companies I had written to and what I had received, and it looks like I wrote to them in March and received one $1 coupon in return. Hmm...obviously my name stayed in their database.

P&G's Everyday Sampler

I just heard about P&G Everyday Sampler today, in Michele Easter's Refund Cents newsletter. Click here to go to her website, www.refundcents.com, and get on the list. It's a really great site that I haven't had a chance yet to fully explore. I'm loving the newsletter, though.

So, I went out to P&G Everyday Sampler's website and quickly registered and ordered free samples of Tide Total Care and Pantene Expressions and will also be getting a $10 coupon on Oral-B Power toothbrush mailed to me.

I can't wait to see what types of offers show up in my inbox now that I have registered. Free samples and coupons--two of my favorite things!

Hey, It's Free!

I just stumbled on a great website called "Hey, It's Free!" It posts the web's best no-strings-attached free offers. I just ordered Crest Whitening Expressions toothpaste, Gimbal's Jelly Beans, a Kashi cookie, and a Simple Harvest granola bar. Check them out! I'll add their link to my main page, but I've also added it to my Links bar in Internet Explorer.

Free Samples from Walmart.com

I've been getting a lot of free samples from walmart.com lately. Really useful things like shampoo, hand lotion, laundry detergent, deodorant, cereal, OTC medicines, etc. Just today, I signed up for a free American Greetings greeting card and a free sample of Multigrain Cheerios. I don't shop at Wal-Mart for a variety of reasons, but who am I to turn down a free sample? No shipping, no handling, just go to their website and sign up for the ones you want. Go to www.walmart.com, go to the In Store Now menu (farthest on the right), choose Free Samples, then choose See All underneath the Free Samples picture in the middle of the page (don't use the menu on the left--it sometimes takes me in circles). Choose the sample(s) you want, and fill out the online form for each. They say to expect the samples to arrive in 6-8 weeks, but my experience has generally been less. I always agree to take the survey for trying their sample, but I've yet to be asked to take one.

If you have a good source for free samples, let me know. I'll feature it in a future post.
